OUR MISSION

To make the world a better place from everything we do

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I started my business because of these two questions: Why do businesses have to ruin the planet to make a profit? Is it actually possible to build a business where everything is ethical and still be profitable? To show the world this was possible I created the world's most ethical pub The Green Vic. When the pandemic forced us to pivot I took that exact same mission and created Better World Bar Hire an award winning sustainable event bar and industry leader in ethical hospitality.

2019 - THE GREEN VIC

A pioneer in ethical hospitality, we opened the world's most ethical pub The Green Vic in Shoreditch. It was a groundbreaking concept where the entire supply chain consisted of social enterprises. This meant every drink, toilet roll and dog treat donated to charity. We fundraised for a different local charity every week, proudly employed vulnerable individuals and fed people experiencing homelessness for free every Monday. Every single thing we did helped make a better world.

2021 - BETTER WORLD BAR HIRE

Following the pandemic, we evolved the pub concept into Better World Bar Hire the world's most ethical event bar. We took the same groundbreaking mission and made it mobile bringing sustainable pop up bars and premium ethical hospitality to corporate brand activations, weddings and private events nationwide.

2022 - THE DIGITAL BAR

To tackle the problem of single use waste from branded event signs and menus we created a zero waste solution and built the UK's first digital wall mobile bar. This high tech innovation allows corporate clients to tell their brand story and stand out at trade shows while wedding couples can showcase their love story to all their loved ones.

2025 - B CORP CERTIFICATION

We cemented our status as an industry leader by becoming the world's highest scoring B Corp mobile event bar and ranking in the top 1% of sustainable event bars globally. To top off a historic year we were also crowned the winner of the Most Sustainable Event Bar Award.

2026 - A MULTI AWARD WINNING LEGACY

We continued to prove that purpose driven business works by successfully retaining our title as the Most Sustainable Event Bar 2026. Alongside this we were honoured with the Social Impact Excellence Award 2026 which formally recognised our verified ESG data, our ethical supply chain and our relentless dedication to providing vital employment for vulnerable staff.

HOW WE CREATE CHANGE

We operate on a simple rule: any money spent, must create a positive impact. From our supply chain of social enterprises to employing vulnerable staff, every aspect of our business is designed to build a better world.

SUPPORT CHARITIES

We support charities primarily through our social enterprise supply chain. Before we buy any product whether it is drinks, cups, straws or uniforms we ask three critical questions: Is this product the best thing for the planet? Is it made in an eco friendly way? Does it donate to a charity? This guarantees that every business cost has a positive impact.

TRANSFORM LIVES

Our passion is to help as many people as possible. We partner with leading organisations like Only A Pavement Away and Crisis to provide professional employment for people experiencing homelessness, ex-offenders and individuals living with disabilities. Our support helps them transition back into long term independence and success.

PROTECT THE PLANET

We go beyond standard sustainability. We have curated the world's most climate friendly drinks menu and exclusively use eco friendly cups and straws. At every event we leave a positive footprint by planting 100 trees and protecting 300 more from deforestation through our verified partnership with Ripple Africa.

INSPIRE INDUSTRY CHANGE

We are here to prove that you do not have to ruin the planet to make a profit. We all know ethical suppliers may cost more but you also receive a premium product that genuinely helps build a better world. We hope to inspire other businesses to adopt our ethical model or just make one small change because it will make a huge difference long term. We will always choose the planet over profit, it's even in our logo!

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Randy Rampersad, a proud Trinidadian, Tottenham Hotspur fan (please don't hold that against me), aging cricketer with a growing golf addiction, world backpacker and single dad to two incredible girls.

After five years of backpacking around Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Dubai, I came home ready to build a business but one question kept nagging at me: "Why do businesses have to ruin the planet to make a profit? Is it possible to have a business that is ethical in everything it does and still be profitable?"

That frustration became my mission. In 2019 I launched The Better World Group, starting with The Green Vic Pub, the world's most ethical pub. After the pandemic, I pivoted and created Better World Bar Hire, the world's most ethical event bar. Today, I also proudly serve as a judge for the Sustainable Bar of the Year Award and Best Sustainable Pub Company Award.

In the future, my ultimate personal ambition is to help end world hunger and homelessness. But for now, my business rule is simple: everything we do has to make the world a better place and every penny we spend must create a positive impact.

Join me in unf*cking the world, one event at a time.
Cheers to a better world 🍻
